Hailing from six different countries, each member of our strong teaching staff brings a unique perspective when sharing ideas on teaching and learning. Dedicated to optimal learning for all of our students, our educators share their best practices with each other during formal and informal professional learning opportunities including external conferences, in-school workshops, peer observations and student-centred coaching. Learning within our rigorous, internationally recognised curriculum is assessed through standards and competencies, enhanced by a strong emphasis on active and personalized learning. We are an authorised International Baccalaureate World School, authorised by the IBO to deliver the IB Diploma Programme and by Cambridge to deliver the IGSCE. We are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and have recently adopted the ACE protocol.
The school emphasizes self-directedness, with a focus on both academic competencies and learning behaviours. Through curricular connections to service learning and fostering student leadership skills, our students are encouraged and supported in living our mission statement.
The International School of Havana believes strongly in safe and secure learning environments for all. This is supported by a robust Child Protection Policy and Procedures that includes screening of all applicants and training for students, teachers, staff, and parents. If this sounds like the sort of school you want to join, learn with and contribute to, please let us know. Send your most recent curriculum vitae to email@example.com
